The prestigious car brand Nissan is promoting an expedition featuring its robust model, the Nissan Navara, starting from Pretoria (South Africa) to Cairo (Egypt). The Nissan Navara is a resilient and reliable pickup truck “designed in Africa, for Africa, by Africans,” specifically built to tackle the most challenging conditions of African roads. The Nissan scientific expedition team has been in Mozambique since the 9th of this month, through Motorcare, the representative of the Japanese automotive manufacturer, to introduce the Nissan Daring Africa 2024 project.
This project entails an expedition starting from the Nissan commercial vehicles factory located in Rosslyn, Pretoria – South Africa to Cairo, Egypt – a factory dedicated to manufacturing passenger vehicles.
In the country, the team crossed the Ressano Garcia border and began by visiting Motorcare’s facilities. This bold and incredible expedition aims to reinforce the message that the currently marketed Nissan Navara (produced in Africa) boasts quality, viability, durability, and effective performance on any African terrain, no matter how challenging the road conditions. The Nissan Daring Africa 2024 is a pioneering expedition showcasing the best of Nissan in Africa, connecting South Africa and Egypt. It’s a daring expedition where the Navara sets a new standard of durability and performance in pickups, with a set of features designed to withstand the test of time and exceed the expectations of even the most demanding drivers. With a reinforced chassis, strengthened front suspension, and high-strength steel application, this model is built to tackle all challenges across Africa.
In addition to its robust performance, the Navara offers a high level of comfort and convenience, with intelligent technologies such as Nissan Connect with Android and Apple CarPlay, and the Intelligent Around View Monitor with moving object detection. The Navara also provides ample cargo space and advanced safety features, including airbags, driver aids, and security systems. Motorcare’s General Manager, Ivan Búzi, expressed great enthusiasm for the expedition initiative. “Nissan is an extremely popular brand in Mozambique, and the Navara is a particularly important model for us due to its versatility, ruggedness, and comfort levels.” Búzi concluded by mentioning that “… it’s a great privilege to have the opportunity to showcase the Navara’s capabilities in some of Mozambique’s most picturesque locations and test it on some of our toughest road conditions.”
Motorcare’s Commercial and Marketing Director, Jacinto Mondlane, emphasized the vehicle’s ruggedness and the fact that it’s built in Africa. “Built in Africa, specifically in Pretoria, neighboring South Africa, the Nissan Navara was designed for Africa. It’s not just the tough vehicle Nissan produced for the toughest road conditions on the continent, but it also has high specifications and luxury – because being tough and strong doesn’t mean you can’t be elegant, incredible, and comfortable too.”
On April 11th, the caravan will depart for the Machipanda border in Manica to continue the journey to Zimbabwe and other countries until reaching the final destination.” (Revista Ídolo)
