Vinte e duas jovens do sexo feminino concluíram recentemente o curso de Fiscais de Floresta e Fauna Bravia, numa cerimónia realizada no distrito de Machanga, província de Sofala, dirigida pelo Director-Geral Adjunto da Administração Nacional das Áreas de Conservação (ANAC), Severiano Khoy. A formação, coordenada pela ANAC e promovida pela Akashinga – Moçambique, em parceria com a África Futura Worldlife Restoration, teve lugar na Coutada Oficial n.º 5.
Durante a cerimónia, Severiano Khoy destacou que ser fiscal da biodiversidade vai muito além de exercer uma profissão: é assumir um compromisso com a vida selvagem e estar na linha da frente da defesa dos ecossistemas, incluindo florestas, rios, oceanos, parques e reservas. O dirigente sublinhou ainda que, apesar dos desafios decorrentes da pressão sobre os recursos naturais, das alterações climáticas e das atividades ilegais que ameaçam o meio ambiente, esta missão é cada vez mais urgente e necessária.

“Hoje não termina apenas um curso – começa uma missão. Que sejam exemplos de integridade e dedicação. Que o amor pela natureza guie cada passo do vosso caminho profissional e pessoal”, afirmou Khoy, incentivando as graduadas a exercerem a sua função com ética, coragem e responsabilidade.
O Administrador de Machanga, José Tomás Lopes, reforçou a importância da capacitação feminina na conservação, salientando que este tipo de formação representa um avanço na promoção da igualdade de género e na proteção sustentável da fauna bravia. Por sua vez, o Gestor do Projecto da Coutada Oficial n.º 5, Tiago Lidimba, frisou que os ensinamentos adquiridos durante os três meses de formação constituem o ponto de partida para uma fase profissional, na qual valores como coragem, resiliência, colaboração, integridade e justiça serão determinantes para o sucesso da conservação da natureza e o benefício das comunidades locais.
